Immediately after the closing of the 8 – 11 November Consultation on the 3 – Year Programme in New Delhi the GCF Committee met to review the results of the consultation and to do further planning. The committee noted with great satisfaction that the consultation had achieved its purpose by stating the objectives and identifying the main activities for the period 2009 – 2011. The next task will be to draw up a plan of implementation and to establish a budget. A detailed proposal will be prepared for the next meeting of the committee in February 2009. The committee also decided that a communication strategy should be worked out to accompany the 3 – year programme and appointed a small sub-committee to begin reflecting on the nature and shape of the next global Forum event in 2011. Other decisions taken were to set up a support network among Forum participants, to make the evaluation reports available to all who are interested, to send the advertisement for the position of a new GCF Secretary to a large range of churches and organisations, and to finalize the formation of the new GCF Committee that will assume its responsibilities as of January 2009.
